The Commodities Trading team is looking to add a market maker to focus on bulk products, thermal and coking coal, dry freight, iron ore and steel products.

The Securities Division enables our clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk. We make markets and facilitate client transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. In addition, we make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Fixed income, currency and commodities teams transact in a variety of assets, including interest rate products (such as government bonds, treasury bills and other highly liquid instruments), credit products, mortgages, currencies and commodities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
– Market making for Commodities bulk products, thermal and coking coal, dry freight, iron ore and steel products
– Sending regular market updates/runs/axes to sales and clients
– Liaise with sales people & desk strategists to find adapted solutions for our clients
– Manage day-to-day administration of the book (risk reports, position clean-up) as well as aggregating and analysing data relevant to our markets.
– Generate trade ideas and develop tools to flag market opportunities
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
– Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Finance, Statistics, Economics or a related discipline required
– Quantitative background and technical skill set required
– Prior investment banking industry experience required
– Experience in a client facing role required
– Experience with process improvement/automation and data analysis/manipulation required
– Good technical knowledge of commodities, equity derivatives required
– Experience of performing reconciliations, regression, reporting, compiling market trends required
– Knowledge of risk management, regulatory procedures and experience of interacting with regulators required
– Strong analytical thinking and decision making skills
– Must be proficient with MS Office and knowledge or Python, VBA, R, SQL and Bloomberg/Reuters required
– Ability to work effectively with people and strong attention to detail
– Ability to synthesize and dissect large amounts of information in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
– Must be a team player
