Are you seeking a driver position? SameDay plc is the ideal company for you! Our commitment to excellence has lasted for 36 years, and we’re seeking drivers to join our team. We provide all our fully employed drivers with a regularly maintained tracked vehicle, uniform, and all necessary equipment to ensure that they perform at their best. Although prior experience is preferred, it is not required, and external training is offered after a trial period, with nationally recognized qualifications at the end.

Our drivers work between 37.5 and 45 hours per week and are ‘on call’ one evening in five, one Saturday in five, and one Sunday in five (not on the same weekend). It’s important to note that SameDay drivers must be willing to work flexible hours, including early starts, late finishes, and the potential to stay out overnight with little to no notice.

You must also be comfortable with customer service, problem-solving, and working independently during driving hours. A current police check from the disclosure barring service is advantageous, as it will be required before you begin. A good attitude towards customer relations is essential, a vital aspect of the job.

While an HGV/LGV licence is not required, an ADR licence (to handle hazardous goods) would be an advantage and attracts a higher pay grade. Our fleet of Citroen Berlingo and Relays is well-maintained, and you will be paid an allowance to keep your vehicle clean weekly to a high standard.

The position pays a gross of around £22,200.00 per annum (primary grade 2 inc. wash allowance when full-time, including seasonal variations. However, the more efficient, flexible, and reliable you are, the more you can earn; there are seven grades. Our basic pay starts at £11.00 per hour for permanent employees and progresses. Pay review due Oct 1.

If you think this position is good for you, we welcome applicants with five years of driving experience, under 6 points on their licence, and no convictions for Drink-Driving in the last five years. You must be able to supply references from three professional people that have known you for three years (including an ex-employer) to pass a complete Security check, and these names need to be provided at your interview.
