Location: Royal Mail, Woking BSD, Kestrel Way, Woking, GU21 3BA
Starting Salary: £22,015.00
Working Week: Our operations run 24/7. You’ll work 5 days a week out of 7 and shifts times will vary based on your rota but may start as early as 3am and end as late as 2am. Flexibility is required. Qualification: A 13-month programme earning a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) driver apprentice qualification, a C&E Licence, and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)

On the programme, you’ll benefit from on-the-job driving experience and complete a range of masterclasses designed to teach you everything you need to know about the role.

About you:

21 years of age or over with a full UK driving licence (with less than 6 penalty points)
Passion for driving and working independently
Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
Good customer service and communication skills
You have GCSEs at Grade C / 4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications), or you’re happy to complete Functional Skills qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
You’ll need to pass an eye test and a DBS check to train as an LGV Driver.

We’ve partnered with GTG Training to deliver the apprenticeship training programme – they will complete the required eligibility checks and invite you to a screening call. After that, you’ll have an onsite interview with the Royal Mail Area Distribution Manager.

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
