On our mission to eliminate waste we provide waste collection services to the Leisure, Retail and construction industries. Collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, transporting materials to our Material recycling facilities where we produce a valuable product such as cardboard, Paper, Washed sands, Biomass for energy and animal bedding.

We are now recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Back Shift Walking Floor Driver to join our team based in Dalkeith, Midlothian. This is a rare opportunity, with Class 1 openings uncommon in the business. This is a full-time position, with normal working hours of 50 hours per week Monday to Friday, starting at approx 18:00 daily.

This is a salaried position paying £37,151.40, which does not include Driver Bonus paid up to £1.05 extra for every hour worked, giving a very realistic on target earnings of £40,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in operating Walking Floor or Ejector trailers, with experience of off-road driving in landfill and other waste sites. However, drivers with experience in other vehicles in the Construction, Waste and Recycling industries will be considered.

The ideal HGV Class 1 Walking Floor Driver will have:

Held their Class 1 Licence for at least two years
Valid CPC entitlement
Digital Tachograph card
Good knowledge of road networks in Edinburgh and the Lothians
Less than 6 points or less on their licence (No DR, DD, CD or IN codes)
An excellent command of the English language
Good Customer Service Skills
