The NWH Group is a second-generation family business headquartered in Midlothian. Servicing the whole of Scotland and Newcastle from ten sites, the NWH Groups vision is to eliminate waste by transforming it into a valuable product.

On our mission to eliminate waste we provide waste collection services to the Leisure, Retail, and construction industries. Collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, transporting materials to our Material recycling facilities where we produce a valuable product such as cardboard, Paper, Washed sands, Biomass for energy and animal bedding.

The business is now primed for the next phase of growth following strong trading performances and we are recruiting to increase our team to deliver this vision.

We are now recruiting for Category C / Class 2 Sweeper Drivers to join our fleet based at our site in Glasgow. All our positions are full-time and permanent contract, with an average 50 hour working week.

In addition to the basic & overtime rate below, we operate a Driver bonus scheme which pays up to £5.25 extra per tip made, based on your performance in Infringements, Accidents, Driver Telematics and Employee Engagement.

As of October 2021, we are also introducing a Driver Commitment Bonus, whereby NWH Drivers will be offered the opportunity to be eligible for a £1,500 bonus, should they wish to commit to being with NWH for the coming 12-month period. A bonus of £500 is paid in advance upon successful completion of your 3-month probationary period, and the remaining £1,000 at the conclusion of the 12 months. However, drivers will then have the ability to sign up to a further 12 months, and another £1,500.

HGV Class 2 Sweeper Drivers £10.70 per hour, with all hours invoiced for paid, for example you could work 50 hours, and be paid for 70 hours.

Please note, a probationary rate of 35p less per hour applies to the above for new starts, during their initial 3-month probationary period.

For this role, Sweeper driving experience would be beneficial.

Applicants should have:

Held their Class 2 / Category C Licence for at least two years
Valid CPC entitlement & Digital Tachograph card
Good knowledge of road networks in Glasgow
Less than 6 points or less on their licence (No DR, DD, CD or IN codes)
An excellent command of the English language
Good Customer Service Skills
