Full job description
Hereford Galvanizers is a successful independent metal coatings business specializing in the hot-dip galvanizing of steel products. Having been established for over 60 years we have extensive expertise within the galvanizing industry and work with large construction companies to local fabricators and farmers.

We operate two hot dip galvanizing plants, one in Hereford and one in Oswestry, Shropshire and also a powder coating and shot-blasting plant in Oswestry.

An opportunity has arisen for a part time LGV1 driver to join our team in Hereford.

Key Details

Hours: Part time (30 hours per week)

Location: Hereford site HR4 9NS, multi-site drop offs

Start time: 6.00am

Hourly Rate: £14.87/hr basic + overtime rates

You will be a professional driver with:

A current HGV C & E Class 1 driving licence
a minimum of 2 years experience driving articulated vehicles
experience and competence in the handling and loading of fabricated steelwork or similar products would be preferred but full training will be given.
experience in strapping/securing steel loads
forklift licence (preferred but not essential as training can be given)
Assisting with regular vehicle testing runs
Delivery/collections of loaded trailers with local customers
Your key responsibilities will include:

Completing pre-use operational vehicle defect checks
Assisting with loading and unloading operations
Being responsible for the safety of their load and ensuring its security with the use of Ratchet Straps
Compliance with all current company & legal procedures & requirements.

What we need:

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK FROM 6AM EVERYDAY
A minimum of 2 years HGV driving experience
No more than 6 unspent penalty points.
They must hold a current driver Tachograph Card, 6 months or more from expiry
Driver CPC Card with an expiry of more than 12 months.
Flexibility to cover holidays when required, scope for overtime
