HGV Driver
Sittingbourne
Base salary: £43,195 per annum
Meal allowance: £1,035 per annum
Annual earnings: £44,230 + overtime

As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting for an HGV Driver to join the team at our Sittingbourne site. The vehicles you could be driving will be a mix of articulated crane vehicles, drawbar crane vehicles, and rigid crane vehicles… also 95% of our vehicle fleet consists of new vehicles!

So what’s the mission?
You’ll be delivering customer orders to building sites and homes in the region, so you’ll have a positive ‘can do’ attitude with excellent customer service skills and be able to stay calm and professional when challenges arise. You will operate a crane vehicle ensuring that you maintain the vehicles by cleaning them daily. After all, you are the face of Marshalls!

You will put the customer at the heart of everything you do, ensuring you work to a high level of health and safety and are compliant with specific customer requirements. You’ll also be punctual to ensure on-time deliveries.

What are the mission-critical skills?

Hold an HGV Class 1 license with no more than 6 points and hold a current Driver CPC card.
Excellent English communication and writing skills
A good team player and a keen eye for detail
Willingness to be flexible about occasional overtime is essential
An understanding of yard and despatch operations, coupled with product knowledge.
Experience in operating HIAB/Palfinger roll loader/fixed-mounted cranes is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.

For the right candidate, we will provide crane training through ALLMI (Association of Lorry Loaders Manufacturers and Importers)

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it).
