The analyst will be involved in advisory and occasionally principal transactions from the outset and will be expected to have the skills required to:
- Build and/or oversee financial models
- Be familiar with and help prepare draft Term Sheets for all levels of debt within the Capital Structure which could include, Senior, Mezzanine, Securitisation, PIK, Second lien, High Yield corporate bonds
- Assist in the preparation of Information Memoranda for Banks and other Financial Institutions bidding on the financing requirement
- Liaison and relationship building with banks
- Deal with internal debt/ bank queries on a day-to-day basis
- Assess the appropriate debt level and debt structure for the potential acquisition
- Be familiar with and have experience of external ratings assessments across some of the Energy, Renewables, Airports and Transport sectors
- Close working relationship with tax/ legal advisors in structuring the deal to ensure appropriate security/ whitewash
- Assisting with documentation process
- Communicate and coordinate with M&A colleagues to ensure the delivery of financing within tight timelines
- Discuss derivatives structures
About you
The ideal candidate will have
- Several years of relevant experience in an Investment Bank or similar
- Fundamental knowledge of debt products across the capital structure
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of finance documentation
- A clear ambition for a career in the debt markets
- Preferably experience within project finance, infrastructure and acquisition finance
- Outstanding tertiary qualifications in mathematics, finance or similar
- Excellent financial modelling skills including cashflow and financial ratio analysis
- Strong analytical/numerical skills as well as excellent commercial judgement
- Knowledge of the UK and European Investment Banking sector
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisation skills
- The ability to work across multiple deals at the same time
