Full job description
We currently have an exciting opening for a full time HGV / LGV1 Class 1 Night Driver to work for LondonEnergy Ltd (LEL).

You will be based from our Transport Yard in Hawley Road, Stonehill Business Park, Edmonton, N18 3QU
You will work 47.5 per week
Monday – Friday (6:30pm – 4:45am)
Main Responsibilities:

As a HGV / LGV1 Night Driver you will load, collect and transport waste and recovered materials from LEL operated sites, to designated destinations in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with legal requirements and Company policies.

Main Duties:

Compliance:

To maintain accurate reporting of vehicle operation by ensuring all tachograph related regulations are adhered to.
To inspect the vehicle and report vehicle or plant defects in line with Company procedure.
To drive in a safe manner in accordance with the law.
To report all accidents or incidents at the earliest opportunity and provide written and camera evidence.
Vehicle Operations:

Using one of our Articulated Vehicle’s to collect waste from waste transfer stations and to deliver to LondonEnergy sites, or reprocesses.
Load and transport bulk waste & recovered materials from Transfer Stations to designated destinations in a safe and efficient manner.
To drive Company vehicles in a safe and proper manner at all times having due regard for other road users.
To ensure that all loads are fully secure prior to departure.
In conjunction with the site manager or supervisors, assist to maximise the loading of vehicles within legal limitations.
To plan journeys to ensure fuel optimisation taking account of road congestion and other delaying factors.
To drive the vehicles in such a manner as to optimise fuel consumption, brake and tyre wear.
Maintenance:

To ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and safe state at all times.
To ensure vehicles are adequately fuelled at the end of each working day or as instructed.
To identify and report vehicle defects promptly.
Requirements

You must hold a HGV class 1 / LGV1 / C+E licence and have no more than 6 points on your licence due to insurance purposes.
You must have previous experience of driving a similar sized vehicle.
