We have exciting opportunities for HGV Class 1 Drivers (Cat C+E Drivers as we sometimes call them) to join our growing depot team. We work around the clock to satisfy our customers so for you, this means we can offer you flexibility and a mix of Days or Nights. No Overnight stays, Start & End Point will be our Knowsley HQ!

What We Can Offer You:

Class 1 Driver– Tour rate of £165 per day.

Overtime Cancellation rate – £60

Our HGV Class 1 drivers work on shifts. Full-time contracts are worked on a 4 on 4 off, comprising of 4 shifts. In addition to our competitive pay, we’ll offer you up to 20 days’ annual leave (incl bank holidays) & contribution into your pension.

What You’ll Do:

Our HGV Class 1 drivers usually drive our longer routes in waves, ensuring the safe, efficient driving of vehicles from depots to other stations.

Trailer swaps only, picking up and dropping off at various depots – no city centres or “hard to get to” locations.

You’ll arrive at the depot and be asked to drop your trailer and pick up another. No handballing cages or heavy pallets, the warehouse staff are in place to turn the trailers around. Route will be fully planned on your smartphone.

All our Drivers will keep paperwork updated on their route and as a team player, will assist depot staff from time to time. We know the great British roads and weather don’t always play nicely, so you’ll need to keep us updated with any problems. We can then help find an alternative route.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

You’ll need a full UK driving licence
HGV Class 1 (Cat C E) entitlement
Driver’s CPC and digital tachograph.
Excellent communication skills
A safety-first mindset
Reasonable physical fitness

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it).
