Lead Architect – External APIs and Markets Data

J.P. Morgan Developer API Program is a component of the Markets Execution digital platform and delivery solution for both internal and external clients of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). The vision of the API Program is to provide discovery and commercialization of API and data services amongst internal and external client developers, through cross-business self-service on-boarding tools and a data distribution infrastructure
The Program is looking for an API Data Engineer to develop data standards and govern the portfolio of projects across program. The API Data Engineer is expected to be responsible for the quality of content being distributed both internally and externally. The Engineer is expected to contribute to and execute standards and operating procedures to streamline the creation and distribution of API-based content within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Author design standards and principles in concert with Domain architecture

Drive program alignment with various aspects of Domain architecture: data models, taxonomies, data sourcing, data privacy, etc.  

Ensure suitable integration of solution with firm-wide Data Management capabilities (Data Inventory, Data Quality, Discovery, etc..)  

Drive integration of APIs with data models, generation of documentation, and API discovery

Work with application developers to drive solutions design　and deploy API functionality.

Review API specs and underlying code.

Drive Solutions Design engagement across product lifecycle: requirements, functional/data/systems design, QA, training, roll-out, etc. working closely with partners (Product, Domain Architecture, CDO, etc..)This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes

Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals

Bachelor or Masters degree in a STEM discipline  

Expertise in producing APIs, preferably in Financial services  

Intimate knowledge of various architecture style, protocols, data formats, industry standards like RESTful API, SOAP, JSON, XML, Google standards, etc.

Knowledge of functional domains in a Wholesale Bank across Front, Middle & Back Office  

Experience in integration across different layers of technical stack  

Team player with excellent communication skills and ability to work with and influence across teams 

Confident in communicating with senior sales stakeholders, product, engineering and production
