Lead Architect – Equities Risk and Structuring Tech

The lead architect for qRisk is responsible for defining the end-to-end architecture of the new risk infrastructure for Equity Derivatives Group. The qRisk Architect Lead will:
Define the development model built on top of a Production Parallel instance, enabling continuous, safe, incremental changes that are constantly compared against production, leading to increased developer efficiency (reduce costs) and experience (increase talent)
Define the strategy for leveraging Disaster Recovery hardware for the Production Parallel environment in order to increase the reliability and availability of the DR environment and save on development and testing costs
Reduce operation and development costs
Leverage modern, scalable and resilient big data technologies (Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Elastic Search) to reduce incidents and down timeCommercial experience of delivering platforms built using big data technologies (Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Elastic Search)
Extensive Experience in building large and scalable server side applications in Java or Python
Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to work on a globally distributed team
Disciplined approach to capturing functional and non-functional requirements and defining the technical  strategy required to deliver them
Experience with high performance & high throughput systems using parallelization and concurrency
Experience of the full software development lifecycle, breaking requirements down into technical deliverables and following through to delivery
Familiarity with data modeling, and query design in either relational databases or No-SQL solutions
