The Company:

Our client is a leading international supplier of architectural metal building solutions to the construction industry based in South Wales.

The office is very busy and full of various types of personnel from Directors, to drivers, to production workers and fellow transport office staff.

The Opportunity:

Situated in their office in Cardiff (CF3), you will be required to ensure all transport movements are organised and planned in a cost-effective manner, reaching their destinations safely, securely and on time.

The client is looking for someone with experience in a transport/logistics planner role.

They are an ever-growing team, with a forward-thinking approach with all employees and progression available within the company.

Main responsibilities for the role:

· Organise the distribution of goods, ensuring the correct products are delivered to the correct location on time and at a suitable cost

· Ensure H&S procedures are always followed

· Review haulage benchmarking to ensure costings are realistic Monitor all transport costings and product associate KPI’s

· Ensure all shipments are costed on a weekly basis and distributed correctly to all hauliers

· Ensure all product is planned and any planning issues are advised to the wider team

· Ensure all vehicles are planned according to the best possible price and haulage option

· Complete customer confirmations when planning, ensuring the delivery requirement is correct

· Building relationships and improving customer service

· Providing holiday cover to the wider planning team

· Ensure all export product is correctly planned and paperwork is provided quickly

· Ensure all paperwork is correct for loading teams

· Confirmation of all deliveries whilst planning and ensuring follow ups are actioned

Pay:

· Monday to Friday

· 09:00-17:00 start and finish times

· Salary – £25K-£26K per year

Key Requirements:

· A logistical and systematic approach to work

· The ability to solve problems and make key decisions under pressure as well as offering creative solutions

· Good IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft programmes and SAP

· A positive attitude towards continued learning

· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as individually

· Experience in Microsoft Word & Excel

· Strong communication and teamwork skills

· The knowledge and initiative to solve basic problems and make routine decisions

· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

· UK Driving licence
