The Company:

A Bristol based company are offering a very competitive and exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join their expanding and progressive team.

The Opportunity:

Our client is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join them to work with their busy Transport team.

Your role will be to manage day-to-day duties within the Transport Division which consists of drivers and lorries, as well as sub-contractors. You will also work with a transport team who will help with your daily management duties as well as three members of the sales team.

Some Key Responsibilities

Management and utilisation of the haulage fleet including sub-contractors
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Transport Department
Management of the Transport Operations Team, drivers and sub-contractors.
Ensuring company compliance of all transport policies, legislation and procedures with regards tachograph and working time directive.
Planning the routes for all vehicles, focusing on cost and efficiency
Providing drivers with important routing information and site-specific instructions
Re-routing drivers as and when required quickly and efficiently
Resolving and managing customer queries courteously and efficiently
Identifying any operational issues, potential problems and opportunities.
The successful candidate will have very strong communication and management skills.

Shift Pattern:

Monday to Friday

07:00am – 17:00pm

PAY:

£55,000 per year + company car

Key Requirements:

CPC holder
PC Literate in Word, Excel
5 years in Transport Manager experience
Transport planning experience
Managerial role experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The knowledge and initiative to solve basic problems and make routine decisions
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Unfortunately, we cannot take anyone with a DR10 on their licence
