We’re looking for Winter drivers to join our Transportation team based in Shrewsbury or Craven Arms or Oswestry

Location: Shrewsbury or Craven Arms or Oswestry – Shropshire

Contract: Fixed term zero hour contract to April 2025 – Flexible days / nights – Call out & weather dependant

Salary: £16.22 per hour – Weekly pay

What will you be responsible for?

As a Winter driver, you’ll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them in key essential works, driving gritting vehicles to spread salt onto the roads during colder days and nights, keeping the UK’s roads moving.

Your day to day will include:

Driving a gritter vehicle
Fitting a snow plough during adverse weather conditions
Maintaining relevant driver and vehicle records

You can drive and hold a current HGV licence
Have CPC accreditation

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
