Vehicle Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: £ 12.60 + Holiday Pay

Hours Per Week: 40

Working Hours: 9am-5.30pm Monday-Friday

Job Type: Temporary

Job Criteria:

Must have a full current driving licence which enable them to drive in Northern Ireland

Must have NVQ level 3 in motor vehicle engineering or equivalent relevant qualification

Must have one years’ experience in working in a drivers fleet maintenance and management environment

Must have experience working on both HGV and LGV vehicles

Must have experience working with vehicle attachments and miscellaneous items of mobile plant

Must have the ability to be commercially aware with a good knowledge of undertaking the appropriate servicing, preparation, maintenance, and repair of all heavy goods vehicles, light good vehicles and miscellaneous vehicles

Job Duties:

To prepare vehicles for annual testing and to observe, recognise and report promptly on any vehicle or component defects or systems of impending failure

To provide all relevant job costing and time recording information using the documentation required

To participate in a 24 hour emergency call out service if required

To drive vehicles as required

To interpret, implement and have due regard to technical servicing and repair instructions and manufacturers specifications

To participate in quality assurance procedures

To participate in vehicle cleaning and inspection

To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
