Indirect Procurement Specialist

Funding Circle is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist/Category Manager to join the new Procurement Team to negotiate, manage, and optimise our global contracts. In this greenfield and exciting role, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of procurement at Funding Circle.

The candidate will be responsible for the full end to end procurement process of the IT category as well as a variety of other direct and indirect procurement categories on a global level. They will be required to act as a subject matter expert for the EMEA region (UK, Germany & Netherlands) & form effective relationships across multiple teams, levels & vendor(s); to guide them through procurement decisions, drive operational processes and initiatives to solidify our operations.

The Role:

• Dealing with stakeholders across the business of all levels, providing guidance and advising the best sourcing strategies
• Negotiating with global third-party suppliers to drive efficiencies and performance improvement.
• Assessing and analysing currently spend reports/trends to identify cost saving opportunities.
• Educating and promoting the benefits of the procurement and supplier relationship management
• Acting as an ambassador for procurement/funding Circle both internally and externally.
• Reporting to key stakeholders on their supplier portfolios including information such as, but limited to risk, spend and performance trends.
• Assisting the Group Procurement Director in shaping the Procurement to become a best in class in function.
• 10-15% travel required to our Germany & Netherlands office locations.

You:

• Relevant experience in a Procurement commercial environment with excellent negotiation skills (Circa. 5yrs+) across multiple categories (FM, Technology, Marketing & Professional Services)
• Has excellent verbal, written communication & analytical skills
• Experience of building relationships with business stakeholders of all levels.
• Ability to define sourcing strategies; apply competitive methodologies to drive down & control cost.
• Understands the external supply market for your categories & translate into expert advice for the business
• A team player who is driven, organised, confident in their approach to work & has the ability “to get things done” by using their own initiative.
• Passionate about procurement and how these principals can be applied to Funding Circle’s mission “to build a better financial world”
• Able to work and learn quickly in a fast paced, fun and dynamic environment
• CIPS qualified or willing to work towards (Desirable)
