GSAM Fixed Income is an investment team with a global suite of products that delivers fixed income portfolio solutions and manages assets for a broad range of clients such as pension funds, endowments, foundations, financial institutions, insurers and high net worth individuals. We focus on investing and advising clients across all sectors of the fixed income market, ranging from traditional investment grade products to more opportunistic/distressed investing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
A strategist within GSAM Fixed Income will apply quantitative methods and industry knowledge to develop investment strategy and risk management analytics that will be used in managing portfolios in our GSAM Fixed Income business.
– Design and structure new investment strategies and frameworks
– Perform customised research and analysis with institutional clients to address their unique investment objectives
– Prepare and deliver presentations for client meetings
– Develop and maintain financial models, using object-oriented programming and other tools
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
– Strong academic record with Bachelor’s level or equivalent or above in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline
– Prior investment banking/financial services industry experience required
– Experience of programming with Matlab, Python required
– Familiarity with C/C++, SQL, R, Latex and Bloomberg required
– Experience with data gathering, documentation, reporting, financial/mathematical/technical modelling required
– Project management experience and demonstrable involvement with process improvement/automation initiatives required
– Knowledge of algorithms, risk management, probability, statistics and stochastic processes required
– Strong general and technical communication skills, with an ability to effectively articulate complex financial and mathematical concepts required
– Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment required
