Winter Maintenance Class 2 Driver
Location: Trafford, Manchester
Salary: £420 weekly rate guaranteed
Contract type: 6 Month FTC
Working hours: Ad hoc – can vary
About the role

The Winter Maintenance Class 2 Driver is essential for keeping roadways safe and accessible during winter. This role involves operating snowploughs and other equipment to clear roads, highways, and public areas of snow and ice, ensuring safe transportation. You’ll work primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, with call out hours based on weather demands.

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 2 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
Certification in Snow and Ice Control Operations is advantageous.
Winter Maintenance Certification desirable but training will be given
Experience in Operating Heavy Machinery or Snow Removal Equipment.
Familiarity with Local Geography and Road Systems

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
