Job Title: HGV Commercial Workshop Manager

Role Summary: tep into the role of Commercial Workshop Manager and become the driving force behind our newly expanded 28,000 ft² state-of-the-art facility. In this role, you will orchestrate the operations of a bustling workshop that’s not only doubling its capacity but also advancing its capabilities with the introduction of a 7.5-ton MOT station. Your mission will be to energize and lead a team of dedicated technicians, harnessing their skills and enthusiasm to elevate our workshop’s output and efficiency. You will act as both a mentor and a strategist, fostering a culture of continuous learning and impeccable quality.

Your leadership will ensure that our facility is not only a place of work but a beacon of excellence and innovation in the HGV repair market. You will leverage the latest in diagnostic technologies and repair techniques to keep us at the forefront of the industry, all while maintaining a focus on sustainability and safety.

Key Duties:

Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and lead workshop staff to perform to the highest standards. Foster a dynamic environment where continuous learning and excellence are the norm.
Workflow Management: Organize and schedule daily tasks and projects to maximize workflow efficiency within the workshop.
Equipment Oversight: Oversee the maintenance and repair of workshop equipment, ensuring all tools are in top working condition.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of materials and supplies, efficiently placing orders to avoid shortages.
Logistics Coordination: Coordinate delivery schedules, including personally driving flatbed vehicles as needed for transporting goods.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a secure workshop environment.
Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge, emphasizing advancements in HGV repair techniques.
Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of work completed, inventory usage, and staff performance evaluations.
Required Skills:

Proven Leadership: Demonstrable experience in a managerial role within a workshop or similar environment, ideally with HGVs.
Strong Organizational Ability: Excellent skills in multitasking and organizing, ensuring smooth operations under varying workloads.
Communication Excellence: Superior verbal and written communication abilities for effective team and client interactions.
Driving Proficiency: Proficient in commercial driving with a valid driver’s license; experience in flatbed vehicle operations preferred.
