HGV DRIVER CLASS 2 (Cat C) – Gatwick Airport

About the Role:

Working in the Service Delivery department, you will play a vital role in ensuring that flights are fully catered and depart on time. This will involve the loading of catering and bars equipment from the airport-side warehouses on to one of the 17 tonne rigid vehicles then driving this air side and loading the equipment onto the plane.

Due to the nature of the role a lot of manual handing, bending, lifting, loading and unloading will be required as part of your daily duties, with only a short percentage of your time spent driving. The role will also require you to liaise with cabin crew from a variety of airlines, to facilitate the transfer of catering equipment to and from your vehicle.

This role WILL include a mixture of days, evenings and weekends, plus there is potential for overtime during peak periods.

About You:

You must:

Have a current UK LGV Licence, Category C (Class 2) with less than 6 points,
Have a valid CPC and Digi Card.
Have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, as part of a team in a fast moving environment where deadlines are tight.
As part of this position you will require an Air-side Pass. In order to comply with strict aviation security regulations, you will be required to complete a full 5 year background and criminal records (DBS) check upon successfully completing a driving assessment. Any applicants with non – UK based references will require the appropriate DBS check + translation of documents, and any gaps in employment must be accounted for.
