GB Recruitment is a leading logistics staffing agency partnering with some of the UK’s top transport and distribution firms. We’re currently looking for skilled and reliable Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing work with our client based in the Barnsley area.

Role Responsibilities:

Safely operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in line with company and legal standards
Complete deliveries and collections across regional/national networks
Perform vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness
Accurately complete paperwork and use of onboard telematics systems
Communicate effectively with transport and warehouse teams
Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times
Requirements:

A valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred but not essential)
No more than 6 penalty points – no DR, DD, or IN convictions
Good knowledge of UK road networks and driving regulations
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
