We’re Hiring! HGV Class 1 Driver GBA Logistics

Location: Newton Aycliffe Full-Time: 4 on 4 off working pattern (midnight – 2am start time)

Salary: £40,000

Peak Season Bonus!

All Drivers who start direct (PAYE) from Newton Aycliffe will receive a £500 Peak Bonus:

£250 paid AFTER a successful completion of probation after 3 months of service
£250 paid AFTER a successful 6 months of completed service

As a Class 1 Driver at GBA Logistics, you will be a vital part of our Dedicated Fleet team, delivering a high-quality, reliable service to our valued customers across the UK. Your role will involve completing nationwide deliveries in a safe, professional and compliant manner, ensuring each journey reflects our commitment to operational excellence. You will handle cage work, primarily serving our retail customers, so a flexible and customer-focused approach is essential. Whether you’re on the road or at a delivery point, you’ll represent GBA with pride and professionalism. This is more than just a driving role – you’ll be contributing to our mission of providing exceptional logistics solutions and helping to maintain the strong reputation we’ve built in the industry.

Key Responsibilities for HGV Class 1 Driver

Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
Ensure safe and secure loading, using proper load restraint procedures.
Drive safely and professionally, complying with traffic laws, working time regulations, and tachograph rules.
Practice fuel-efficient driving and report any vehicle defects promptly.
Perform regular walk-around inspections for ongoing compliance.
Deliver a high standard of customer service during all interactions.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle at all times.
Involves store deliveries & cage work

About You We’re looking for someone who brings:

A customer friendly manner and a positive can-do attitude
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
A solid understanding of tachograph rules and working time directive
The right to work in the UK
A minimum 1 year UK Class 1 (LGV C+E) driving experience
No DD or DR driving offences
No more than 6 points on your licence

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners.
