About the Role

The Financial Crimes Assurance (“FC Assurance”) Team reports to the Senior Financial Crimes Manager and together they will lead the FC Assurance Team in the region.

The EMEA FCRM Team is tasked with implementing a Financial Crime program which comprises of Customer Due Diligence, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions, Fraud, Governance and Regulatory Change activities.

The FC Assurance Team will work with the Senior Financial Crimes Manager and other stakeholders to develop and implement an independent FCRM Quality Control and Quality Assurance function across the EMEA platform.
Quality Control is defined as “a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that a performed service or function adheres to a defined set of quality criteria”, whereas, Quality Assurance is “the ongoing maintenance or identification of improvements against a desired level of service or process delivery”.

Responsibilities

  • Alongside the EMEA FCRM Senior Management Team, develop and implement a holistic EMEA-wide Financial Crimes Quality Assurance/Control program
  • Construct a plan for EMEA FCRM QC and QA reviews to ensure that all FCRM program components are covered. Where findings are identified, perform root cause analysis and identify solutions and best practice. Ensure tracking and monitoring tools are implemented with delivery dates and action owners identified.
  • Investigate any LOB issues/ complaints and provide feedback to the EMEA FCRM leadership.
  • Knowledge management for FCRM requirements – to include corporate policy, Wholesale standards, regional procedures and training material updates and changes.
  • Partner with management to implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) across FCRM (these should be reviewed with Senior Financial Crimes Manager to ensure that the KPIs are producing meaningful and effective data).
  • Monitor FCRM Team performance to identify areas of concern, trends and devise and implement actions necessary to address issues and determine their implication to strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure strong working relationships with Compliance (notably the EMEA Monitoring and Testing Team), EMEA support functions, Lines of Business, second and third lines of defence.
  • Evaluate and monitor the impact of Industry changes, and new and enhanced offerings along with the businesses infrastructure changes.
  • Assist in ensuring that FCRM regional procedures are updated, accurate and adhere with regulatory requirements and or Wells Fargo policies.
  • Develop and ensure production of ongoing regular (defined as monthly, quarterly or semi-annual) reporting and Management Information to Senior Management around the effectiveness of the QA program and any trends noted.
  • Assume a leadership position as FC Assurance Team representative on local/regional initiatives as appropriate.
  • Provide SME assistance on projects for the EMEA FCRM Team.
  • Identify from the QA reviews any training needs required and liaise with the Central Compliance Competency Team / HR training to ensure implementation.
  • Either as a result of an internal and external regulatory exams or audits, provide assistance in the completion of any corrective action activities that are set forth and ensure adherence to meet agreed timelines

Market Skills and Certifications

The individual will be responsible for implementing the FC Assurance program (FCAP) to ensure delivery of targeted independent QC and QA reviews across all EMEA locations where Wells Fargo conducts business.

As the senior member of the Team, the FC Assurance Senior Analyst will support the Senior Financial Crimes Manager in with the day to day challenges and, strategic and tactical activities that impact the Assurance Team.  The role will also involve acting as primary lead for the Assurance program.

In addition to these functions, Team Members are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

  • Experience with Quality Control/Assurance in the financial services sector
  • Experience working in a high pressure environment, working  to tight deadlines displaying efficiency and effectiveness on a daily basis
