Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) Technology plays a key role in the firm’s ability to help institutional clients buy and sell financial instruments on liquidity venues around the world, an important revenue driver for the firm. In FICC Technology we use both open source industry standard and internal proprietary technologies to build cutting edge platforms for pricing, execution, and control over each of these millions of transactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
– Driving straight through processing of electronic trades in the repo business in the Interest Rates Product (IRP) technology team.
– The candidate will be partnering with technologists, strategists, traders and salespeople in the Goldman Sachs (FICC)/IRP trading environment.
– Candidate will be interacting with global teams on a regular basis to understand business requirements, design and implement quality solutions.
– There should be a focus on building centre of excellence in Bengaluru through subject matter expertise and greater ownership of functions.
– The candidate is required to provide technical leadership in driving key projects on FICC trading environment as well as supporting the day-to-day business of the desk.
– Provides mentorship over a team of more junior developers.
– Proactively engages with stakeholders through the SDLC of the projects.
– Works with global teams on projects that will have global impact.
– Influences current and future architecture choices as we are looking to adopt more modern platforms.
– Demonstrates excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR
– Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline required
– Investment banking industry experience required
– Prior software development, trading application and web development experience required
– Interest in fixed income products required
– Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, databases and core programming concepts required
– Demonstrable involvement with automation/process improvement and cost reduction initiatives required
– Expertise in Java/Javascript, C, C++, Matlab, HTML, XML required
– Familiarity with Windows, Unix OS required
– Must have ability and willingness to quickly learn proprietary technologies
– Involvement in assisting businesses with predicting client behaviour and market trends required
– Experience in data analysis and reporting required
– Strong problem solving and technical skills required
– Must be comfortable in multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team
– Strong communication (verbal and written) skills required
– Ability to apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development required
