The Employment Section of the Law Department, which combines local market expertise with the size and strength of Wells Fargo, has a new opportunity for an experienced Employment Counsel to provide legal support to Wells Fargo & Company and its subsidiaries regarding employment-related issues arising in EMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day legal advice on the broad spectrum of employment-related matters to the EMEA HR team and senior management.
- Providing risk management training to business line management and Human Resources.
- Managing employment threats and/or claims and managing outside counsel relationships.
- Reviewing and advising on corporate employment practices and policies, employment contracts, benefit plans and agreements; and
- Working with relevant attorneys on providing employment related advice on compensation plans and issues.
- Working with the International Employment team on coordination of legal advice on EMEA or International-wide projects/initiatives
Market Skills and Certifications
To be considered for the role:
- Excellent knowledge of and experience in relevant UK / EU law and employment regulations.
- City-based firm and/or in-house experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with and exposure to domestic and international employment/compensation legal issues applicable to large diversified financial institutions.
- Candidates must have strong client-relations, interpersonal, written and oral communication and analytic skills.
- Be able to assume responsibility quickly and have the ability to work in a complex environment requiring a high degree of collaboration.
- Experience of coordination of complex regional or International-wide employment projects.
