We are an owner-managed SME, operating a medium-sized fleet for general haulage, groupage, and pallet network throughout the UK. Well-established for over 25 years, we have been delivering various freight and finished goods, earning ourselves a reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the business for an experienced Transport Manager to join the team. We would like to hear from individuals with experience managing a busy traffic office, planning routes, maintaining the fleet, and making sure we are compliant within the operation.

The Role

Planning routes for general haulage, CX, and pallet networks, ensuring goods are collected and delivered on time
Maintain the fleet and keep all records up to date, including MOTs, Inspections, and general repairs
Manage the company’s Operator’s license to enable us to run a fleet of HGV Vehicles
Full responsibility for the planning, reviewing, and improving delivery schedules to ensure route optimisation
Ensure our team of drivers is fully compliant with License updates, CPC training, and Health & Safety legislation
Quoting jobs and providing rate cards for the sales department
Recruitment and interviewing of drivers
What you will bring to the role

Demonstrable experience as a Transport Manager
Valid CPC
Ability to resolve issues quickly
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence to ensure a positive outcome
Experience of using various systems, including Haulage Exchange, Pallet Networks

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
