Drivers Direct Recruitment are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 drivers for our client based in Leyland, Lancashire

Hours:

Monday to Friday various start times.

Occasional Saturdays various start times.

Benefits:

The Role:

General Haulage Deliveries

Your duties will include:

Complying with all drivers’ hours and Road Transport Directive legislation

Carrying out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.

Acting as company ambassador when dealing with customers.

Completing all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (include any electronic devices that might be used, scanners, hand held POD etc).

Planning and adapting routes as necessary and feeding back to traffic office on any issues around load planning and routing.

Complying with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers’ premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.

Nights out will be paid at £25 per night.

Requirements:

Valid HGV Class 1 Licence

Valid Drivers CPC card.

Valid Digital Tachograph card.

Knowledge of driving legislation particularly tachograph requirements.

You will be prepared to work flexible hours to meet customer needs.

Physically fit as some handballing will be involved.

Good planning skills and the ability to show initiative and a strong positive attitude.

Communication skills and the ability to form good relationships with customers.

Responding effectively to achieve branch targets and performance goals.

Self-motivated with the drive to achieve required standards and goals.
