Data is core to our mission at Funding Circle to build a better financial world.  We partner with multiple data suppliers and are looking for a Data Vendor Manager to work within our data team to help manage our vendor relationships.

This role starts with understanding our vendor landscape today and develop the strategy for managing and getting the most out of our relationships.  The right person will be able to work across numerous internal teams to build a deep understanding of the use of data vendor products. They will be the key contact with our vendors and will manage the relationships day to day.

Responsibilities

• Work with Funding Circle’s global teams to understand the current use and future plans for 3rd party data products
• Build long term sustainable relationships with our vendor partners – understand their product sets and roadmaps
• Keep stakeholders in the loop on all things relating to data vendors and reporting key items to senior leaders
• Track the use and quality of our vendor products across the company
• Working with finance teams to forecast vendor spend
• Work alongside our procurement teams to scope and negotiate contracts and identify new partners
• Escalation route for problems and issues

Skills and Experience

• Experience of working with data vendors, particularly Credit Reference Agencies, and their products and services
• Strong understanding of how third party data is used to drive a business like Funding Circle – how it can be used operationally and analytically
• Willing to get into the detail and be able to explain complexity in a clear and concise way
• Able to understand business and technical processes and how they impact our use of vendor products.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to manage change
• Organised and self motivated
• Bonus points for German language skills
