Global Corporates Credit is a core facet within Commercial Banking Risk, providing robust and dynamic credit assessment and monitoring on a “Sector” basis (including Infrastructure & Energy), supporting colleagues across Global Corporates and their Product Partners.

A vacancy has arisen within this team at a Manager level, for an individual to join the busy Energy & Utilities team.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

– Conducting independent credit assessments of lending proposals and preparing reports for presentation to sanctioning officials to enable informed decisions to be made; this involves analysis of company prepared information, broker reports and company financial statements, as well as other relevant information, and identifying key strengths and risks. Submissions include new to bank business, increased lending and annual credit reviews.

– Undertaking research using business press, credit rating and information agencies, to ensure assessments have an external dimension, and applying judgement to ensure relevant material information is included when evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of a lending proposal. This will also include sensitivity analysis and use of the bank’s modelling systems.

– Liaising with relationship managers, product partners and clients where necessary to shape credit proposals in order to maintain a balance of risk and reward, and also to identify viable new business opportunities.

– Monitoring and control of credit exposures, to identify situations which may increase risk to the bank, communicating with Senior Managers and other interested parties as appropriate, as well as compliance with LBG policy and regulatory policy.

– The Credit Analyst is expected to attain a high level of sector-based credit expertise and assist with the production of periodic sector reviews.

– Managing a busy workflow, so that their individual and collective team performance meets the current and future needs of the business.

– Maintenance of internal records to satisfy internal and external requirements, particularly relating to data quality and statutory reporting.

– You’ll need have 2-3 years corporate lending experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas and utilities sectors, and be competent in interpreting and building financial projection models.

– Knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry, Regulated and Integrated utilities sectors would be beneficial, but we would not exclude experienced general analysts that have an aptitude to learn new sectors.

– You’ll be focused and will want to develop strong objective and independent credit skills within a core sector for LBG.
