EMEA Global Financial Crimes Compliance (“GFCC”)
The regional GFCC Department is a subset of the Compliance structure within J.P. Morgan covering all lines of business with a reporting line to the EMEA Head of GFCC and Surveillance. At the present time, there are approximately 150 EMEA GFCC staff covering advisory, monitoring and investigations, sanctions, bribery and corruption, training, independent testing and KYC quality. GFCC staff are located within all lines of business (LOBs) and in our major locations within the region.
Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate level (Senior Compliance Officer) member of the GFCC Advisory team, which covers CIB. Key elements of the role are:
Provide financial crime prevention advice to Sales and Trading, Onboarding and other Operational functions covering the various product lines in EMEA. This would include advice on adherence to firm wide standards, local laws and regulations and when appropriate the impact of changes to the standards and relevant law and regulation;
Scope, undertake and report on testing and monitoring of financial crime controls, either alone or in support of Compliance Testing and Internal Audit
Lead and manage the GFCC program for CIB, which includes oversight of AML and Sanctions,
Execute corporate, line of business and CIB specific policies and guidelines for Financial Crime prevention;
Provide clear advice on the application of local requirements and firm policy in relation to Financial Crime Prevention, and provide risk-based solutions to complex business issues / initiatives across the product range for the lines of business;
Execute oversight over centralized AML and Sanction functions that undertake tasks on behalf of the bank
Serve as the point of communication and, where necessary, escalation of material AML issues, to the MLRO, senior management and other relevant senior Compliance and Risk management teams;
Represent CIB GFCC in various Governance, AML and Risk committees, sub-committees, board meetings, working Groups; and GFCC initiatives as required;
Act as a primary point of contact for GFCC audit and compliance testing in relation to any regulatory examination or action, audit or test;
Act as a primary point of contact for the financial intelligence units and to maintain co-operative relationships with them;
Oversee the production of GFCC reporting and metrics; including committee and board meeting reports as required;
Oversee, drive and report on the content and completion of AML and Sanctions risk assessment for the bank
Supervise the administration of AML and Sanctions training
Handle and oversee suspicious activity analysis and reporting with possible filing with the local regulatory bodies.
Coordinate Exam Management/Regulator Liaison – managing examinations, reviews and audits which encompass facets of Financial Crimes Compliance
Manage and address enquiries on managing fraud from regulators and clientRequired Skills and Experience:
Prior experience in leading a Compliance or equivalent team or process;
In-depth knowledge of AML and Sanctions legislation, international requirements and industry best practice. ;
Good understanding of risk assessment processes
Strong decision making capabilities and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions
Proven ability to make sound decisions, including escalation when appropriate, in regard of AML or sanction risk
Product expertise: good knowledge of a full range of CIB products and transactions
Excellent communication skills especially the ability to articulate complex issues to a range of audiences, including business management, other Compliance, Legal and control colleagues, as well as Audit and regulatory authorities;
Demonstrated flexibility including willingness to accept new assignments and challenges in a rapidly changing environment;
Strong comprehension ability and attention to detail are critical
Strong written and oral language skills with fluency in English
