Full job description
We are currently looking to recruit experienced Class 1 drivers to work within our busy transport department in Wolverhampton, as part of a cold store operation. Working 50 hours over any 5 days out of 7, with varying start times to meet the requirements of our customers.

Responsibilities
Adhere to statutory regulations governing road haulage.

Carry out daily vehicle checks and vehicle defect reporting.

Keep vehicles clean (inside and out).

Responsible for vehicles and loads.

Checking Loading/Unloading.

Reporting problems with deliveries.

Responsible for obtaining signed receipts for deliveries and collections.

Ensure maintenance of required load temperatures and load conditions.

Ensure receipt of good pallets or PCV at delivery.

Carry out security checks and ensure the security of vehicle and load.

Carry out any other duties as laid down in the current issue of the ‘Driver’s Handbook’.

Comply with company policies regarding ISO9002, BS7750, Health & Safety and Training.
Requirements
Previous experience driving an HGV

Relevant licence to drive an HGV.

Valid driver CPC

A positive, flexible, can-do attitude

A keen attention to detail and work accuracy.

Good verbal communication skills

Flexibility

Willingness to do nights away is essential.

For insurance purposes you must be 25 years of age or older and have held a licence for a minimum of 2 years.
