Department Summary
Our main objective is to support Investor Services to lead the industry with evolved, innovative sales collateral by:
• Helping the firm win business by putting the best in class sales collateral in the hands of our prospects and clients. We leverage time and reduce demand on sales, product and other subject matter experts.• Representing the firm by selling Investor Services in the same way around the world – while flexing to meet the local needs of our regions and markets. We do this with singularly content, messaging, branding, information and data points.• Creating high quality sales documents using a consistent execution and project management plan. We help customize our sales documents to speak directly to our clients’ needs, values and decision making criteria• Centralizing content management & delivery by building and actively managing a centralized knowledge base, which is the starting point for the team in the creation of our final products. We create and deliver a Sales Enablement Desktop to provide the selling organization with an “only what you need” and “always up to date” source of sales materials and tools.• Provide trend analytics and reference management by managing, tracking, analyzing and delivering deal related trending over time across multiple data points internally (Grid) and externally (Chatham).
Position Summary
The group’s core objective is to help the firm win business…by building the best sales collateral, in the shortest amount of time, with the smallest time involved from Investor Services stakeholders. This position is both accountable and responsible for actively project managing, creating and delivering best in class projects, as well as capturing and leveraging material for future use. Reporting to the Regional Proposal Manager, the Proposal Writer is responsible for the development & creation of customized, compelling and persuasive proposals and pitchbooks for prospective and existing clients’ in-region.The role involves working with senior management, sales, client management & subject matter experts to collaborate in the writing and customizing of proposals. The proposal writer will utilize and contribute to a centrally managed database of component material whereby metrics and narrative are captured and leveraged globally, develop an understanding of the proposed solution, and incorporate bid strategy, organizational positioning & supporting messages and benefits into the proposals.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
Create best in class proposals in both German and English working closely with the European Sales Teams as a main focus and other regions as required
Maintain a database of German content and liaise with external vendors for translations
Manage proposals and relationship documents – utilize excellent written communication Project manage multiple documents with different stakeholders and tight deadlines (local and regional)
Review and analyze proposal needs to determine key project requirements and construct tailored materials which correspond to the client’s needs.
Generate initial draft using content knowledge base and other sources.
Organize team of subject matter experts and coordinate and solicit their timely input.
Interface with management and sales staff to ensure that proposals meet client/prospect requirements and reflect bid strategy.
Drive the deal process and provide consultative input and direction toward completionProactively identify risks and red flags that may derail your project.
Incorporate all information from multiple stakeholders and synthesize it into a presentable, professional, and competitive proposal aligned with firm branding.
Coordinate with subject matter experts and content manager to update central knowledge base as responses are created, developed and enhanced.
Build and maintain relationships with internal clients over a widespread geographic region, understand cultural nuances, including language requirements
Engage and communicate effectively with Regional Proposal Manager to apprise of activity in the region
Represent the best interests of Investor Services and the Sales Enablement Group as your first goal in any interaction.
Maintain team Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) document, detailing step-by-step processes for BAU activities. Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge
General Knowledge and Experience Required:
502 Analyst – 3-6 years of experience in related field with transferable skill set
601 Associate — minimum 6-8 years of experience in related field with transferable skill set
Ability and interest to learn about J.P. Morgan Investor Services products and services
Experience in professional communication and the ability to craft key messages and unique selling points with the help of subject matter experts
A proven ability to engage stakeholders from across the business and form effective working relationships; Ability to work well and effectively under pressure and tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
The ability to act as a partner and influence decision makers to improve the proposal and overcome project issues
Possess a strong attention to detail and maintains tight quality control standards
Experience / understanding of regional cultural nuances (such as language or cultural considerations)
Strong organization and project management skills as well as the ability to continually re-assess priorities
Excellent written and verbal German and English with strong business writing
Proficiency with MS Word. Prior work in Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
