About FX Strategy
JPMorgan’s Global FX Strategy group is a 12-person team which develops the bank’s views on major currency markets, and generates trade and hedging recommendations for institutional and corporate clients. Strategists are based in London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. The team is routinely rated amongst the best currency research groups in the industry.
The Role
This is an Associate level role in Global FX Strategy team in London, focusing on FX macro and systematic strategy. The individual will report to a senior global FX macro strategist in London and focus producing and delivering the Global FX strategy flagship product to internal/ external clients, as well as on developing tools/frameworks for use by FX market participants. The long-term vision for the role is to grow into a full-fledged client-facing, sell-side publishing macro strategist with the ability to eventually take on specific currency coverage as well.
Responsibilities
Partner with the senior macro strategists to:
Research and develop global macro themes and views published in flagship and ad-hoc publications, with the long-term vision of being able to drive the process of developing and producing original research and trade ideas.
Build and eventually conceptualize tools and frameworks for use by FX market participants.
Deliver global macro, quantitative and derivative FX research views to internal and external clients.
Contribute to team discussions on global market and FX views; maintain/ build internal tools used to generate FX views and research.Qualifications
Applicants must have very strong oral and written communication skills; client-facing experience is a plus
Candidates should be fluent in macroeconomic and finance concepts and display strong quantitative skills
Candidates should ideally have a Masters degree in economics, finance or a technical discipline
Must be proficient in statistical/quantitative analysis and programming (prior experience in Excel/VBA and either Matlab/R/Python/C required)This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
