 About J.P. Morgan Macro Index TradingJ.P. Morgan’s Macro Index Trading is a global leader in the field. The group develop proprietary in-house quantitative based trading strategies and provide derivative exposure linked to these trading strategies to its clients.
 
Key Responsibilities covered by these areas: This role sits within the front office and will be working in a dynamic and busy trading floor environment. You will help senior traders, structurers and sales cover institutional accounts to design, execute and price index products. You will support all aspects of the development of new systematic trading strategies: pre-trade analysis, idea generation, research, implementation and backtesting, internal marketing, assisting of sales people to put together marketing materials.
 

Supporting the day to day traders, sales and client requests and needs

Develop (in a robust, scalable way), expand and maintain the shared strategies code libraries, standard and bespoke marketing materials.

Assist with the pre and post trade process by ensuring internal controls are followed

Understands firm’s approach and policies for managing risks in relevant business and applicable legal and regulatory rules, and follows policies

Develop new systematic strategies with the team and independently

Understand market drivers (of those markets in which involved), market moves, and the numbers behind it all, as well as cross-asset implications

Ensure all relevant parties (vertically and horizontally) are kept abreast of key developments; Provide  a solution-based framework to business practice and clients; Take the initiative to make things better

Cultivate an appreciation of balance between revenue generation and building a client franchise

Build foundation of trust with clients by demonstrating an understanding of their needs and being responsive

Proactively share information, knowledge and ideas that help others succeedThese points have been carefully considered as being important for the role.  Your background must accurately reflect some if not all of these for your application to be considered.

Experience working within an investment bank is a plus

Demonstrable proficiency with market and products lingo is a plus. Well versed in the quantitative nature and framework of own product (e.g., pricing, models, etc).

Demonstrable proficiency with statistics analysis and regression methods

Ability to program in Python is essential, Artificial Intelligence background is a plus

Ability to build marketing materials.

Understanding of markets drivers is a plus, especially fixed income

Ability to thrive on the challenge of competitive pressures and remain focused on client needs

Ability to communicate concepts and ideas, both verbally and via documentation, and be able to defend their validity and target messages to different audiences.

Ability to interact comfortably with internal and external clients and management. 

Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independentlyThis role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
