Our business
J.P. Morgan has a unique global franchise in Equity Research. The Equity Research team works together with Cash Equities Sales and Trading to service institutional investors. Strong research footprints, insights and relationships with both companies and institutional investors can also be beneficial to internal clients such as Investment Banking, Derivatives and Private Equity.
Across these markets, Research delivers up-to-the-minute investment ideas for J.P. Morgan clients. The team also provides a wide range of thematic research that explains the financial markets in depth and offers new and original actionable ideas for investors to build value.
Opportunity
We are looking to hire a highly-motivated and hard-working associate to provide business management support to the EMEA Senior Business Manager and EMEA Equity Research Management Team. Primary responsibility includes working closely in front office environment with these stakeholders and delivering on business priorities.
Key responsibilities:
Provide strategic analysis to determine business progression and issues
Partner with control and support teams including: Legal, Compliance, HR, BCO, Audit, production, technology, reporting etc. as necessary
Ensure the business is in compliance with corporate-wide objectives and policies
Implement new frameworks and developing process efficiencies
Support headcount on-boarding/off-boarding process and logistics
Support department’s financial budget, expense control, head count planning and tracking
Support research management team in collecting, synthesizing and presenting information in clear and concise manner
Participate in town-hall/off-site preparations.
Liaise with research reporting team to obtain, verify and distribute department MIS
Oversee internal and external feedback gathering (surveys) on analysts and collate results for year-end performance reviews
Support mid-year and end of year performance review processRequirements
Essential skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related area
Strong communication skills, proactive mind-set and can-do attitude
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently
Ability to operate in a fast-paced front office environment and to execute timely on assigned tasks
Strong ability to analyse complex problems with methodological approach and logical reasoning
Ability to effectively synthesise and manipulate data and financial/management information
Strong project management skills, with an keen eye for detail and ability to complete high quality work
