We are currently looking to recruit a Collections Driver Supervisor to work within our team at Brighton and Hove City Council

About the role
You will be responsible for leading and supervising a small team ensuring health and safety are adhered to when undertaking the collection of refuse and recycling. You will undertake daily vehicle inspections and providing customer focused service to complete the removal of household, recycling and other designated waste from a variety of locations.

Drivers needed to drive Waste Collection vehicles for Brighton & Hove City council. You will be responsible for ensuring you and your teamwork in a safe and organised manner.

You will supervise and control operational activities of a small team. You will support and manage the staff in the achievement of their daily/weekly/monthly tasks and answer questions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a helpful and friendly team.

You will be:

Addressing any ongoing issues as appropriate and problem solving where required.
Ensuring that all council policies and procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of staff including those under your supervision.
Supervision responsibilities of up to 3 Collection Operatives including return to work chats and personal development plans.
Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with internal / external customers.
Attending staff and customer meetings as required.
Ensuring that daily driver safety checks are carried out in line with Council Policy.
Working in a diverse environment built on transparency and respect.
Salary Breakdown

Salary banded scale 6: £29,777 – £31,364 (for working 37 hours a week)

4 hour overtime: £4,828-£5,086 (for working an extra 4 hours a week on top of basics)

Total Salary: £34,605-£36,450 plus market supplements plus the opportunity to work overtime and Bank holidays for RSG enhancements.

It is essential that you to have a HGV C CATEGORY Drivers Licence and a valid CPC card.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
