Transport Co-ordinator

We are a dynamic, customer focused provider of specialist transport service, supporting the events industries. We are seeking a Transport Co-ordinator that must ensure the efficient and compliant movement of goods using HGVs, whilst ensuring customer service levels remain high and organisation standards are met.

This is a Monday to Friday role, with a rotated shift pattern for an on-call phone which does include every other weekend. The successful candidate will have a background in transport planning operating 7.5 Tonne up to articulated vehicles, you must have a good understanding of routing vehicles locally and nationally, ideally a background in general haulage, events, transportation and pallet network. A good understanding of drivers’ hours is also crucial for this role.

The ideal candidate will be committed to the role and have a degree of dedication to the business to ensure all customer requirements are met. The candidate should have experience in running a busy transport office in a fast-paced environment and the ability to remain calm and courteous at all times.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

· Co-ordinate and plan transport schedules to meet delivery/collection deadlines whilst using cost-effective route planning

. Allocate drivers and vehicles based on availability and capacity

· Improves sales and grow customer database

· Problem solve and re-arrange routes using contingency planning

· Monitor and deal with transport queries and problem solve with drivers, as well as designated person for customers

· Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the post-holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Company from time to time. Subject to adequate experience and/or training.
