HGV Class 2 Driver

Our client based near the Banbury area of Oxfordshire are currently recruiting for 10 x additional Class 2 Drivers on a permanent contract straight away.

This is a drinks distribution company based in the area and the role of the driver includes delivery of beers, wines and spirits to pubs, clubs and restaurant chains. This is a challenging role that can be heavy, drivers can expect to do 8-10 drops per day and start times vary from 01.30-06.30.

Your working week will comprise of 4 days out of 6 Monday to Saturday (Monday to Friday jobs are available and all drivers will be paid for 51 hrs per week and only work a maximum 48hrs. The paygrade for this role is £35685 per year plus optional overtime and various other benefits.

Our client work with NEW PASS Class 2 drivers regarding this role and nurture them through what can be a nervous time for drivers.

The starting process with our client is very simple, all interested drivers will need to go for a driving assessment that lasts 1 hr and have a discussion about the role with the driver trainer/assessor. If you pass this assessment there are opportunities drivers can start on the next available training programme (normally a Monday). The training programme is fully paid and a 3 day classroom session. After this drivers go out with a buddy for 2 further weeks to settle them down until they are comfortable with the role.
