Transport Supervisor
Hours – Monday to Friday 40 hours per week including 1 hour unpaid break
Salary – £33,000 per annum

Purpose of Job
To ensure compliance with Transport legislation (Drivers Regulations, Working Time Directive, and Road Traffic Act).
To assist in the day to day running of the Transport Department by liaising with customers and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
To cover absence of Transport Manager and/or Assistant Manager
Main Duties
Ensure employees conformance with Health and Safety at Work Act
Ensure that all company works instructions, policies and procedures are complied with and updated.
Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained in line with the set-out maintenance planner and accurate records are kept and maintained.
Ensure records are kept for all vehicle maintenance/ repairs.
To arrange vehicle repairs and maintenance
Ensure all Digi cards and vehicle units are downloaded, and records kept.
Ensure all driver infringements are monitored, controlled, and discussed in all cases with the relevant drivers.
To cover all the transport managers duties/responsibility’s during any absence
Ensure that appropriate training is provided to all Transport personnel.
To update the tracking and POD FATHER system
To monitors driver’s progression through the day to ensure all routes are completed, making adjustments if necessary
To improve routes and change orders to assist with customers time windows, reduce cost and driving hours.
To add and remove customers from the schedule as required.
Collating information from drivers with regards to errors and issues reported’ by drivers at point of delivery.
Resolving customer issues/shortages and complaints
Handling and directing incoming phone calls.
Liaising with drivers in answering questions and resolving issues
Dealing with internal and customer queries
Checking available resources to ensure extra deliveries can be made before approving.
Updating the master route planning schedule
Arranging vehicle repairs when needed
Advising customers of issues or breakdowns resulting in late deliveries
Any jobs necessary to assist with the smooth running of the transport department
