Role Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Guideline Management Control department at associate level. The purpose of the team is to safeguard the fund management process by controlling and effectively mitigating portfolio risk by coding and monitoring investment restrictions. The successful candidate will join the guideline management team in the interpretation, coding and analysis of guideline restrictions.
The successful candidate will perform the following functions: –
Manage all aspects of guideline management, from sign-off of new mandates, interpretation, coding, quality control through to the review breach information
Interpretation of investment restrictions for Funds (Regulatory, Prospectus and Internal restrictions) and segregated mandates, covering Fixed Income and Currency portfolios
Negotiate guidelines with investment desks and CPMs to prevent manual guidelines
Ensure any agreed upon manual guidelines are identified and recorded
Coding and Oversight of investment guidelines into the compliance systems.
Develop strong working relationships with our internal clients to manage and service their requirements for an efficient investment process whilst maintaining an independent view
Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures affecting Guideline Management
Partner with Information Technology and the Business in order to ensure systems are enhanced to cover ongoing Client and Regulatory requirements
Help implement guideline management control system enhancements and the integration of new systems
Work closely with other guideline management teams globally in order to establish best working practices
Produce management information and support other critical business activities, such as risk and control self assessment, audit requests and procedure reviewsPreferred experience
Some experience coding investment guidelines into Fidessa Sentinel or similar applications would be beneficial.
Good product knowledge covering the major asset classes
Ability to multi-task and constantly prioritise workflow in a busy environment with effective decision making skills and strong attention to detail
Control focussed with good organisational skills
Ability to deal with people at all levels within the organisation
