Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Class 2 Effluent Waste Tanker Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of effluent waste from various construction sites across the Northwest. This role involves driving an HGV Class 2 tanker, ensuring safe and efficient waste management practices, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate an HGV Class 2 effluent waste tanker for the collection and transportation of liquid waste, ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
Safely load and unload effluent waste from various locations including industrial, commercial, and domestic sites.
Ensure all waste is correctly documented and waste transfer notes are completed accurately.
Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations, ensuring proper disposal practices are followed in accordance with legislation.
Conduct pre start and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking the tanker for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
Ensure that the effluent waste tanker is in optimal working condition, performing routine maintenance and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
Provide excellent customer service at all times, interacting professionally with clients on-site and answering any queries.
Maintain accurate records of each load, including the type, volume, and destination of waste collected via PDA system.
Ensure the correct use and maintenance of the tanker’s pumping and loading systems.
Report any spillage, equipment malfunction, or health and safety concerns immediately to management.
Clean and maintain the tanker vehicle, ensuring it is kept in a good condition and meets all cleanliness standards required for waste transportation.
Assist with any additional duties as required, such as tank cleaning or supporting the operations team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Valid HGV Class 2 (C) driving license.
Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
Proven experience operating an HGV Class 2 vehicle, preferably with waste or liquid tanker experience.
Knowledge of effluent waste management procedures and environmental regulations.
Ability to perform manual tasks, including loading and unloading waste.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental policies related to waste management.
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage routes effectively.
Ability to complete paperwork accurately and on time (e.g., waste transfer notes, delivery logs).
Good communication skills and customer service focus.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve on-site when needed.
Desirable:

Previous experience with effluent waste or liquid waste transportation.
Experience using waste pumps and related equipment.
Additional certifications, such as Health and Safety training, waste management certifications, or first aid qualifications.
Flexible attitude to working hours and the ability to work weekends or on-call when necessary.
