The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a qualified and professional individual to undertake the role of Operator/HGV Driver based at our depot in Droitwich.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be required to operate any Company vehicle for which they are suitably qualified to undertake and as the duties of this post constitute those of a professional driver, all operation of Company vehicles must be undertaken in a safe manner and full compliant will all relative law and legislation.

In addition to driving duties, the postholder will undertake duties associated with that of a Spill Response Operative, including high pressure water jetting, clean-up of spills using available resource and equipment and any other duties associated with this post.

Employed on a full-time basis with 40 hours per week contractual hours, the postholder will be required to work a minimum of 8 hours per day and can expect to work more than 5 days per week if required to complete a task.

Working patterns may change to meet customer/client demand and the postholder will be required to demonstrate a flexible approach to working patterns; there will be opportunity to work overtime and the postholder will be required to participate in a standby/call out/on call rota and work unsocial hours.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Operating Company vehicles including HGV class vehicles (applicable only if licence held) for which the postholder is suitably qualified to operate.
Responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works. It is the postholders responsibility for ensuring all required equipment is located and stored on the allocated vehicle for the pursuance of works.
Compliance with tachograph regulations and reporting in the required manner.
Reporting any vehicle defects to supervision as soon as identified. The postholder will be required to complete vehicle defect report in such circumstances.
Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices. In addition, the postholder will be required to participate in the cleaning of the tanker barrel, adhering to safe working practices and ensuring correct PPE worn for this task.
Responsibility for ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment.
Carrying out all worked in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation.
Responsibility for cleaning all plant and equipment post job. The postholder will also be responsible for identifying repair work required.
Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to divisional supervision.
Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements of possible opportunities.
Any other duties for which the postholder is qualified for and capable of undertaking.

Role Requirements:

Possess relative licence categories to operate and control HGV vehicles which the postholder is qualified to operate
Possess relative licence categories to operate and control identified company vehicles. ADR is an advantage
Previous knowledge and experience of completing RAMS documentation.
Knowledge of tachograph regulations.
Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
Uphold standards of conduct and behaviour, reporting any incidents in a professional manner.

Due to the nature of this post, the postholder must be available to work away from home, on occasion with little or no notice to facilitate the requirements of the business and meet customer demand.
