Overview

We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Driver & Yard Manager to join our team. This hybrid role combines driving duties (including loading & unloading of vehicles) with the day-to-day management and organisation of our yard operations. The successful candidate will take responsibility for vehicle logistics, yard coordination, and ensuring all equipment is maintained, loaded, and dispatched efficiently.

This role would suit a motivated individual with strong organisational skills, who his comfortable and experienced with Delivery & Collection of generators and fridge trailers from events, hires and construction using 4×4 pickups and HGV / Lorry Loader (Class 1)

Duties/Responsibilities

Driving Duties

Deliver and collect generators, fridge trailers, and other hire equipment to and from events and client sites.
Operate 4×4 pickups, HGVs, and Lorry Loaders (Class 1).
Ensure all loads are safely secured and transported in compliance with road safety regulations.
Complete delivery paperwork, vehicle checks, and log sheets accurately.
Yard Management

Oversee the loading and unloading of vehicles.
Manage yard organisation, ensuring all vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained and stored safely.
Supervise and coordinate yard staff or contractors where required.
Maintain stock control and record movements of equipment.
Enforce health & safety policies and ensure a clean, orderly work environment.
Essential –

Full, clean UK driving licence
Class 1 (C+E) HGV licence
Valid CPC qualification
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in HGV driving or similar role
Strong understanding of transport and yard operations
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Preference –

Forklift licence
Valid ADR certification
Lorry Loader (HIAB) ticket
Previous experience in a yard or transport management position
Immediate start available for the right candidate

Salary of £28 – 32K based on 32 hours per week over Friday to Monday. Flat rate overtime in line with salary. Option of a 40 hour work week £32 – 36K.
