We are looking for a pro-active, organised, self-motivated and ambitious Transport Supervisor to join our growing team. As the Transport Supervisor you will be responsible to the Transport Manager for ensuring the department runs efficiently and remains compliant with Road Haulage Regulations. The main function is egg collections and deliveries within the UK including England, Wales and Northern Ireland. You will be an enthusiastic, approachable and diligent and will be the first point of call for all operational concerns for the drivers.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting in the planning and delivery of operational transport activities through your Transport Team, to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
Helping to ensure that activities are cost effective and levels of resource are managed effectively.
Effectively motivate and supervise the Transport Team to carry out their duties.
Collate and coordinate defect reports and ensure they are rectified.
Assisting in the rotation of vehicles and trailers to efficiently manage PMI/MOT/Tacho test intervals.
Assisting the Transport Manager in all requirements relating to safety, health, environment, and quality are being adhered to accordingly.
Communicate any issues or delays that arise and help to resolve problems efficiently.
Anticipate and react to resolve day-to-day issues.
Assist the Transport Manager with forecasts and planning.
Ensure vehicles are kept clean and working closely with drivers to ensure bio-security measures are accurately maintained at all times
Organise the packaging drops for our producers.
Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure logistics run smoothly and timings are adhered to.
Supervise 3rd party hauliers and external agencies on site visits, deliveries and collections when available to do so
The transport team is often the face of St Ewe with customers, suppliers and producers, so a high level of customer service is required by all of the team.
The Applicant

Excellent IT skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Excellent customer relationship-building skills.
Be willing to work towards relevant transport management systems knowledge.
Thorough knowledge and hands on experience of working in a transport function – ideally within temperature-controlled distribution.
An analytical mind-set with a good understanding of reporting and recording performance statistics.
Positive personality.
Friendly disposition.
Diligent.
HGV licence required.
Minimum of 2 days per week Driving around the South-West.
