I would meet my team at the hub yard, we would all travel to the first job, once the vehicle was inspected, I would fill in a pod / tracktrans which is an inspection of the mileage, condition of tyres, any defects, and get the customer to sign it off as proof of collection, I would then drive it to its designated place of arrival which could be anywhere in the UK, if I was the designated chase driver, I would go pick drivers out of there designated addresses and take them to their next jobs and then deliver my vehicle, once at the address I’d then fill in the pod / tracktrans upon delivery and get the receiving customer to sign to say ghs vehicle has arrived. Then the chase driver would pick me up and we would go back to the hub yard and I would sign off on tracktrans.

I would receive my deliveries and collections in the morning on a handheld I would plan my route using route monkey, I would then go to the depot to load my vehicle in route order first to last with all the parcels, once loaded, I would go from each address and deliver each parcel to the customer, I’d get the handheld signed for each drop, I would be customer facing so professionalism was key throughout the day, once the last drop was done I’d sign off the handheld.

I inform people on where they can park, in a prompt and polite manner. I make sure the no parking zones are kept clear.

I would be told the orders and using an FLT truck I’d gather the orders of frozen foods from the cold storage. Then I’d take them through to the packing area, and when the deliveries came in, I’d go to the unloading bay. Using the FLT, I’d take the deliveries and place them into the frozen storage of -20’c.

I would use a counter balance or reach FLT, to move pallets of goods from different parts of the warehouse. I would place goods on the packing machine, wrap them in high tension film, then using the FLT, place them on the truck. I would make sure the warehouse was kept clear of any hazards and dispose of any rubbish.

On a daily basis I would clean the cars of the dealership.
Showroom cars: – I would dust off the cars one by one, use chemicals on grimier cars to remove any marks or fingerprints, clean the windows and hoover the interiors.
Forecourt cars: – I would rinse them off, wash and wax each car, dry them off and wax them, then I’d put tire shine on the tyres.
Customer cars: – I would collect the cars from the service area, drive them to the valeting bay, I would then wash them using wash and wax, rinse, and dry them off, I would clean the windows, hoover the interior, and tyre shine the tyre, then drive it back round to the collection area.

I would have a handheld computer of a list of goods, I would then go and collect the goods from around the warehouse, scan the barcodes as I go to keep on top of the stock, and take them to allocated area to be packed and ready for dispatch.

We would get the orders come in from people wanting to give their belongings to the charity, anything from clothes to furniture, I would then take the van with a helper to go and collect them, and bring them back to the base, we would then sort through to see what’s worth using and what just needs to be disposed of, the goods that we keep we transport them to the shop floor ready to be sold for the charity.

I would be in a team of 4-8 and knock on the allocated houses of the set streets and attempt to make sales of UPVC doors, windows, conservatries, and guttering’s.

Wearhouse:- I would have an order list of electrical goods, I would then pick them orders from the Wearhouse, keep on top of the stock taking so we didn’t run out of the products, pack them in bubble wrap and boxes, and put the labels the boxes ready for dispatch, make sure the area is kept clean and free from hazards.
Driver: – I would get the list of deliveries, I would have a set route and multi drop about 20 drops per day, I would unload the goods and deliver them to the customer and get them to sign the invoice, keep the van clean and respectful, and report any issues in regard to any problems according with the van.

I would walk around in a team of four, and knock on every door in the set streets, and try and make sales of gas/electricity.

I would cook the burgers to a set time, add the ingredients and prepare them for sale, be sure to wash my hands every 30mins, make sure the area was hygienically clean.

Services: – changing the oil/oil filter, changing the spark plugs, changing the air filter, replacing the screen wash/antifreeze.
Mots: – 120 checks of the car to make sure its road legal.
Repairs: – assisting to repair anything from minor to extreme damages

I hold a full HGV class 2 license along with a CPC & Tacho card.
I’ve attended an employability course at learn direct and taken my current skills further, by gaining city and guilds level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy. While at school I attended a one day a week course as a car mechanic at Nova Training. This job involved MOT’s, repairing, changing tyres / exhaust systems, balancing wheels, etc. I’ve done a two-week course at Carver Training on a Pathfinder programme. I have also done an eight-week ready for work course at Carver Training which I have gained a certificate.
I’m currently also a fully registered CI in the Royal Air Force Cadets 240 Squadron, where i volunteer to teach them media, and attend weekly training nights, I’ve also gained health and safety and safe guarding through the force.
