HGV Driving Instructor – Canterbury

Then this is the position for you, become a qualified HGV driving instructor at Kent’s Commercial Driving School.

TrainFor Group is currently looking for new commercial driving instructors to join our team at our Canterbury hub.

We are looking for people who are considering retirement from full-time driving and would like to pass their expertise on to the next generation of commercial drivers. You do not need to be a current HGV driving instructor to apply.

You will be part of our well established team of 20+ instructors which help candidates to pass various driving categories including: Ambulance, Category C (Class 2), Category C+E (Class 1) and Bus (PCV).

This is also one of only two private DVSA approved test centres in the county which provides over 60 various driving qualifications over six days a week.

Salary / Rates

£120.00 per week day
£180.00 per Saturday
£240.00 per Sunday & bank holidays
Average expected salary (before overtime) £28,000 to £31,000 PA.
Up to £42,000 inc. overtime.

Working Times / Schedule

Our usual business hours are from 07:00 AM to 15:00 PM, Monday to Friday, however, occasional weekends may be required depending on test schedules or to assist the business with other activities.

Our times are between 08:00 AM to 3:00 PM. You will be expected to be onsite to perform pre / post vehicle checks to ensure a punctual experience for all candidates.

Requirements

You MUST have held a Full UK Category C+E or C Driving Licence for a Minimum of 3 Years (DVSA Requirement).
You must have a clean licence.
Holding a Category D licence is advantageous but not essential.
Great personality and must have patience.

We are looking for owner-drivers, fleet owners, and HGV drivers (Class 1 or 2) based anywhere in the UK and interested in taking the next step up and becoming owner-operators and transport company owners. To get started and apply for an Operator’s Licence, you need to have £8,000 which is a requirement of the UK and EU transport regulations (you won’t spend it). We can help you with the rest of the process.
