Firm Wide Data Management – Information Architect and Semantic Technologies Specialist ED

The firm wide Chief Data Officer leads Firm Wide Data Management (FDM) with a mandate from the board to transform data management toward demonstrable shareholder value. The DNA team has a firm wide remit to deliver a broad set of data management capabilities including the overall functional and technical vision for data governance.

Owns the FDM Metadata model that underpins all the FDM capabilities and it is developed in partnerships with all contributing stakeholders (e.g. CIAs, IAs, JMIS, Cyber Security). At its core is the model of the Data Catalogue that provides answers to the questions ‘where is the data’ and ‘how did it get there?’

The metadata model will inevitably grow to cover a wide range of JPMC Business and Technical metadata e.g. Business processes, Client Products and Services, Database instances and schemas, application modules, people in roles, etc. The successful candidate will partner with all contributing stakeholders to define the required ontologies and their integration points and influence the design of a semantic technology platform that provides the analytic capability to discover new business insights from the connected metadata.

Network across JPMC Technology (especially with CIAs) to gain awareness of ongoing Data Access, messaging and data model standards and influence/leverage them to inform content of FDM deliverables.

In partnership with FDM Technology influence broader JPMC SDLC and ‘dev ops’ related tools and processes such that the artefacts of both groups are seen as both complimentary and additive.

 
The role requires close engagement with CIAs, IAs, CDO capability leads, Data Science, JMIS, Cyber Security and FDM technology.   
 
 
 
 
 

 
 
Role Qualifications:

Degree in computer science (or similarly technical discipline).

Demonstrable success at application development team leadership and application architecture design and implementation.

Experience of shaping and implementing cross departmental Data Management programs, including Data Quality, Metadata standards, Data Governance, Reference Data Models.

Extensive knowledge of current and emerging data technologies, including web technologies such as RDF and OWL and industry data standards from OMG and W3C.

Proven credibility as to leadership and influencing skills across technical disciplines outside immediate reporting line.
