Data Analyst/Associate

The role:

As a Data Analyst/Associate you will be responsible for performance data used for analytical purposes. You will ensure data is validated and error free, communicating with teams in multiple locations/time-zones and managing tasks accordingly. Deliver on predefined individual and team targets including delivering outcomes with quality and excellence. You will be expected participate and lead data related projects.

In this role you will be:

Responsible for collection and management of Structured Finance data used for analytical purposes

Signing off loan level and investor reporting data requirements for new issue deals

Working with the analytical teams to sign off data maps

Ensure reports are received on time, the data is validated and error free

Resolve data queries, with external clients, in a timely manner and within the Service Level Agreements

Working with the Internal Controls team during reviews and implement changes where necessary

Work with IT, Data, Analytical teams on data enhancements and improvement projects including leading User Acceptance Testing

Pro-actively look for areas where data processes can improve and implement those changes

Produce ad-hoc reports for the business by querying the databases

Work with the Data Quality team on established metrics and the implementation of new ones

Responsible for updating, approving and creating Data Process Manuals

Improve knowledge within the team by conducting training sessions

The Impact:  This role provides a vital connection between S&P Global Ratings data and global markets by ensuring quality data for consumption by downstream products and investors.  The role has a core impact to our stakeholders, serves as the backbone of S&P Global Ratings process and has high visibility within senior management, analytical and operational groups.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience in a similar role within Structured Finance/Data Management

Highly proficient in Excel and SQL.

Any experience with QlikView, Blue Prism, Python or R is desirable

Used to dealing with and analysing high-volume data

Aware of Data Quality/Governance principles

Worked on process improvement projects

Experience with working with teams in different locations/time zones

Very good written and verbal communication

Able to speak about technical issues to a non-technical audience

Can handle multiple queries, multi-task and flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances quickly

Understand and map data flows end to end to a technical level and can isolate and rectify issues

Proactive – work on tasks/initiatives without prompting

Can drill down to understand the root causes of issues

Self-starter, uses initiative and is inquisitive and is willing to go the extra mile
