HGV Driver – Class 2 Drainage and Flooding Works – Days and Nights

Due to expansion an exciting new role has been established at KSD Support Services Limited for an enthusiastic Class 2 HGV driver to join our successful growing team. To enable effective regional cover, we are looking for the successful candidate to be based near to the left of the M25.

About the Role:

This role will require mostly night working, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, but the successful candidate must be ready to switch to days when needed, the successful candidate will work with an experienced drainage operative clearing drainage gulley’s, roof drains, carrying out surveys and looking for hidden issues. The successful candidate, will also work closely with our helpdesk team, making sure work is scheduled and carried out efficiently.

This is an exciting, and interesting and varied role, where you will need to be a problem solver who’s happy to deal with the occasional unpleasant job, whilst enjoying a role that is normally focused on preventative maintenance.

Full training will be provided – you will be put through exciting courses on how to safely operate the tanker, drainage jetting courses, CSCS Card to name just a few courses. In additional all new starters are required to attend a 2-day comprehensive in-house training induction. We want to ensure all new starters are fully supported in their role from day one.

The Tanker is a manual box Man TGS 26T 6×2 rear steer (no sleeper cab), in excellent condition. Please note, the tanker is currently based at our operating centre in Brighton, but a suitable storage location would be identified near to successful candidate home address.

Due to the nature of this role and the duties involved the successful applicant will operate under GB Domestic Hours Rules.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities are detailed below, however KSD Support Services Ltd may require additional responsibilities to be absorbed within reason from time to time to meet business demands.

Maintain accurate records of all works undertaken;
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects;
Learn to operate CCTV camera equipment and communicate effectively with providing reports/photos;
Report repairs and carry out maintenance to sewage systems, drain/gullet cleaning, and pump stations etc…;
Use high pressure water jet to clear blocked drains both at ground level and roof outlets;
Ensuring that Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices are adhered to at all times, in accordance with all technical standards;
Keeping the tanker in a clean and roadworthy condition;
Willingness to travel across the UK.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Full Clean UK Driving Licence with a current Driver Qualification Card and DIGI Tacho Card;
Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
Excellent communication skills;
Excellent customer service skills – taking pride in delivering your work to the highest standards;
Knowledge of the UK road network is essential.

Working Days:

Either Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday – with mostly night working;
You will also be required to participate in providing emergency call-out cover, which could involve evening, night, and weekend working.
Salary:

Competitive dependent on experience.
